Collar

$3,800

Collar was created during the 'wood mosaic' period, utilizing natural wood branches, and epoxy resin. I begin by chopping random branches into short segments, hot gluing them into the desired form, then with a saw dust and resin epoxy mix, I fill the gaps. Once the resin sets, (rock hard) I sand through the wood and resin, to reveal the cross sectional surface. In the case of Collar, I left the resin coated interior in the raw stage.

The form is a mixed reference to both victorian clothing and a native american head dress.

Wood, resin, polyurethane.
